5 Products I Can't Get Enough Of

Hey Stampers,

Today I want to share with you 5 Stampin' Up! products that I just adore.

1) Stripes Embossing Folder (Item # 123128). I love everything that has to do with embossing. Here's a card I'd like to CASE using this folder. It just says "yay summer" to me. And who doesn't love a card that reminds us of the fun summer afternoons eating popsicles?

2) Sponge Daubers (Item # 102892). It took me a while to purchase the sponge daubers, but I'm so glad I did. I'm officially a huge fan. Check out the fun card I made using them:

I used strips of cardstock and masked off stripes on to those background rectangles of Pool Party cardstock. Then I took a sponge dauber, inked in pool party, and ran it across the exposed paper. Then, the really fun part of the card, I dipped some inked up daubers (inked in strawberry slush and calypso coral). Once I got them full of ink I dipped them into some water and quickly pressed them down onto some watercolor paper. I did this all over in a scattered pattern and then took my Mosiac punch (131267) and punched out 6 shapes.

Here's another fun project I did with the sponge daubers:

I made polka dots & hombre banners. So fun! And did you know you get like twelve daubers in a package? Plenty for any project you can dream up!

3. Twisty Treats Kit (Item # 133513)
This kit is going to come in very handy for my son's third birthday party this week. I made a snack mix as party favors.
1/2 cup Quaker Oatmeal Squares
1/2 cup Craisins
1/8-1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
1 package popped popcorn

4. Undefined Stamp Carving Kit (

Here are a few projects I've made using the Undefined Stamps that I carved ALL BY MYSELF! Yep. I thought it would be really difficult and that I'd do a crap-tastic job of it, and it does take practice, but I'm really happy with my first stamps.

It's my logo (TNT are my initials), and it's also a just a fun set for "have a blast" birthday cards.

And then,  you've seen the car I carved on the party favor bag, but here's another look.
Jacob, my almost-three-year-old loves Lightning McQueen.

I'm taking on the big scary task of making a Lightning McQueen birthday cake this Saturday. I took off of work and everything. Plus, Audrey and I have to go buy balloons and all that fun stuff. Yay for parties!

5. Big Shot Die Cutting and Embossing Machine- LOVE IT! Don't have one yet? Host a party and try to get to the "1 product at 1/2 off" goal- and get the big shot! It's ah-ma-zing. Here's a card that is full of big shot fun.

I cut the base with an oval framelit, but out the oval frame with them as well, then cut that scallop edge with the adorning accents edgelits, and embossed the front of the card with the polka dot EF. My Big Shot always comes through for me when I'm in a pinch for ideas. I just search through my big shot accessories box and I can always pull out somethin' fun.

Well, there's 5 products that I can't get enough of lately! What are a few of your favorite Stampin' Up! goodies? Need to shop for some? Just visit my store!

Chalkboard Technique Tutorial

Hey stampers!

Today I want to share with you the Chalkboard Technique. It's so easy, but looks so striking and pretty!

1) Take a piece of Basic Black Cardstock and pat it repeatedly with your embossing buddy. Tap off the excess powder. At this point your cardstock is already looking like a chalkboard that's just been erased.

2) Pick your stamps, get out your versamark ink, white embossing powder, and your heat tool.

3) Stamp your images, one at a time, covering each with embossing powder before moving on to the next.

4) Once you have everything stamped that you'd like on the "chalkboard", and covered in powder, go ahead and heat emboss it on the "2" or "high" setting on your heat gun. You'll know it's done when it's all shiny and raised.

5) From here you can use a white colored pencil to color over your stamps and then gently "smudge" them, or you can just leave it like it is (I chose to leave mine). Both ways resemble a chalkboard, so it's up to you!

This card is for an amazing friend that will be hearing some great news soon, I hope. When she does, I'll have this card ready to send out just for her.
